Interesting event in The Railway Children

Important Events

1. MOTHER FALLS ILL ( CHAPTER 3 )
Mother ill. Peter fetches Dr Forrest. The doctor gives the a list of food and other special things that mother needs. When Bobbie shows the list to mother, says that they have no money to buy the on the list. The children think hard on ways get the things for their mother and finally decide ask for the old gentleman’s help. They write a on a white sheet for the old gentleman on 9.15 train. It tells him to look out for at the station. At the station, Phyllis gives the gentleman a letter. The letter explains what happened to children’s mother and asks the old gentleman for help get the things on the doctor’s list. That evening, delivers a large box to the children’s house. Inside box are all the things in the list plus extra things and a letter from the old gentleman.

. SAVING THE TRAIN ( CHAPTER 5 ) - THE RED-PETTICOAT DAY.
One day, the children took a walk along top of the hill beside the railway line. Suddenly, heard a noise and saw half the hillside crashed onto the railway line below. The children realised that 11.29 a.m train would be in danger. Peter suggested they use something red to wave at the train make it stop. Phyllis thought that they could use petticoats as they are red so they used the ’ red petticoat to make six flags to warn the . After a while, the train came very fast and two flags that they had pushed into the heaps stones fell over. Bobbie was afraid that the train not see them. She picked up one of the and ran on to the line waving the two and shouting “stop, stop!”.. The train stopped just twenty away from Bobbie. They managed to save the train stop a very bad accident.

3. A BIRTHDAY FOR PERK( CHAPTER 6 )
Mother told that she had a story so they could have cakes for tea. children asked to have cakes on Thursday because they to make a birthday tea for Perks since he been very good to them.
As cakes alone did seem a very exciting birthday present , Peter thought asking everybody in the village to help them give a nice birthday. Not everyone was kind. Old Mrs said no one remembered her birthday so she did want to help but many gave them all kinds things to Perks.
The next day, Bobbie and Phyllis Mrs. Ransome roses and a handkerchief for her birthday. Thursday, the children went around to collect presents the had promised. Mrs Ransome also gave Perks some red and a pram. At three o’clock, the children took presents and the pram to Perks’ house.
When Perks home and saw the pram and the presents, he angry. He thought people would laugh at him for poor and needing charity. Bobbie explained that the people pleased and happy to give him birthday presents. They to give him the presents because they liked him. calmed down. He was glad that his neighbours thought kindly of him. The children stayed for tea.
