Sauna Bath vs Steam Bath vs Exercise....
Which is better?....

Steam Bath
Sauna bath
http://www.indiamart.com/esteemplus/sauna-cabin.html
The Sauna (pronounced sow-nah) has been used for centuries, not only
as a place to bathe, but as a place for healing, relaxing and enjoyment.
The heat is provided by a kiua, a stove or heater that
heats the rocks to provide a soft heat. Water is thrown over these rocks
to provide humidity. A sauna is usually done in courses; a short time
in the sauna to heat up and begin to sweat, followed by a cooling off
outside the sauna, Homeland of sauna is Finland that is how it is often called
Finnish sauna.
Sauna bathers in Finland splash water on the
heated stones in the sauna, raising the humidity level to as much as
40%. Without that, the hot, dry sauna air can irritate the mucus
membranes. A Sauna is a Finnish style sweat bath, usually consisting of a
room constructed of soft wood, containing a stove which is used to heat
the room to about 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
A steam bath is fed with a
steam generator which produces thick clouds of mist.
A steam bath opens pores,
soothes sore muscles, increases circulation, and provides a generally
relaxing and healthy experience.
For a very wet and hot health
treatment, people often seek out a peaceful steam bath. This usually
takes place in a sealed room with wooden benches, similar to a sauna,
which is kept at an even temperature and filled with mist.
Using a steam bath can help open pores, improve blood flow and encourage the release of toxins from the skin. In addition, other benefits of a steam bath
include improving the symptoms of certain respiratory infections, such
as nasal congestion and coughing, and even relieving the symptoms of
asthma and airway constriction.
Sauna, Steam Bath Exercise: Common Ground
All three can help you lose weight. How?
Firstly, all three will raise your metabolism. For
exercise its quite common. Exercise exerts your cardiovascular system.
For sauna and steam baths, the extreme conditions (heat, dryness or
humidity) forces your heart, blood circulation and lungs to work
overtime while you are just sitting there. And when your cardio system
works overtime, you will burn more calories.
..depending on your weight and sauna settings, a typical 30-60min session can help you burn some 300-500 calories ….
Secondly, all three will help you perspire (sweat) …
this can help not only release toxins but most can help you reduce
water retention. And yes, water loss is part of weight loss. In fact,
weight loss is made up of muscle, fat and water loss.
Uncommon Ground
The main difference between exercise and sauna/steambath is … well
exercise! Jogging, rowing, football etc don’t just work your
cardiovascular system but also help to strengthen your muscles, joints
and bones. And yeah, exercise is probably more fun than sitting in a
small room with half naked people …. unless perhaps its a co-ed sauna …
but that is a whole other topic.
In conclusion? All three can help you lose weight. If you can, experiment with all three and see how they make you feel.

Kisah Khalifah Umar ra dan rakyatnya
Khalifah
Lantas Umar bertanya: "Kenapa wahai Salman?"
Jawabnya: Engkau berikan kami semua seorang sehelai, sedangkan engkau memakai dua helai."
Kata ‘Umar: "Jangan tergesa-gesa wahai Salman."
Lalu Umar memanggil anaknya Abd Allah.
Sedangkan baginda seorang nabi. Siapakah yang merasakan lebih mulia dari baginda?

Guru Oh Guru hasil karya Usman Awang. 16 Mei 2012
Guru Oh Guru
Berburu ke padang datar
Dapat rusa belang kaki
Berguru kepalang ajar
Ibarat bunga kembang tak jadi
(dedikasi kepada Hari Guru dan guruku tercinta)
Dialah pemberi paling setia
Tiap akar ilmu miliknya
Pelita dan lampu segala
Untuk manusia sebelum jadi dewasa.
Dialah ibu dialah bapa juga sahabat
Alur kesetiaan mengalirkan nasihat
Pemimpin yang ditauliahkan segala umat
Seribu tahun katanya menjadi hikmat.
Jika hari ini seorang Perdana Menteri berkuasa
Jika hari ini seorang Raja menaiki takhta
Jika hari ini seorang Presiden sebuah negara
Jika hari ini seorang ulama yang mulia
Jika hari ini seorang peguam menang bicara
Jika hari ini seorang penulis terkemuka
Jika hari ini siapa sahaja menjadi dewasa;
Sejarahnya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa
Dengan lembut sabarnya mengajar tulis-baca.
Di mana-mana dia berdiri di muka muridnya
Di sebuah sekolah mewah di Ibu Kota
Di bangunan tua sekolah Hulu Terengganu
Dia adalah guru mewakili seribu buku;
Semakin terpencil duduknya di ceruk desa
Semakin bererti tugasnya kepada negara.
Jadilah apa pun pada akhir kehidupanmu, guruku
Budi yang diapungkan di dulangi ilmu
Panggilan keramat “cikgu” kekal terpahat
Menjadi kenangan ke akhir hayat.

Teaching "ARE YOU STILL PLAYING YOUR FLUTE? "
Here's the easiest and fastest way to teach your students this poem.. Make sure they understand these points..
ARE YOU STILL PLAYING YOUR FLUTE?
By Zurinah Hassan
Are you still playing your flute? When there is hardly time for our love I am feeling guilty To be longing for your song The melody concealed in the slim hollow of the bamboo Uncovered by the breath of an artist Composed by his fingers Blown by the wind To the depth of my heart. Are you still playing the flute? In the village so quiet and deserted Amidst the sick rice field While here it has become a luxury To spend time watching the rain Gazing at the evening rays Collecting dew drops Or enjoying the fragrance of flowers. Are you still playing your flute? The more it disturbs my conscience to be thinking of you in the hazard of you my younger brothers unemployed and desperate my people disunited by politics my friend slaughtered mercilessly this world is too old and bleeding | Masihkah kau bermain seruling walau waktu telah terlewat untuk kita bercinta aku semakin terasa bersalah melayani godaan irama lagu yang tersimpan pada lorong halus buluh dikeluarkan oleh nafas seniman diukir oleh bibir diatur oleh jari dilayangkan oleh alun angin menolak ke dasar rasa. ~ Zurinah Hassan |
Questions :
1. What is the persona feeling guilty of?
2. Where does the persona live? What about the flutist/ her boyfriend?
3. What is considered a luxury by the persona ?
4. Why is the village so quiet and deserted?
5. Why is the rice field sick?
6. What are the problems/hardships mentioned ?
The village is quiet and deserted. The paddy fields looked barren.
The ‘luxuries’ here refer to " watching the rain, gazing at the evening rays, collecting dew drops and enjoying the fragrance of the flower" and all these luxuries can be enjoyed in the rural areas and not in the city where everything is so busy, everybody leading a hectic and busy life.
The persona and her boyfriend, the flutist live in two different "worlds" .. The persona's lifestyle and way of thinking is now different from her boy friend's.
She feels guilty - when she misses / or longs for the beautiful melody of the bamboo flute played by her beloved long ago
because her conscience tells her that it is not a right thing to do/feel.
She cannot accept the fact that while the village is under populated and the paddy field in a deplorable state, her lover can still play the fluteand not thinking of the situation, or at least feeling bad about not being able to do anything about it..
s She also feels guilty to be thinking of their love at their difficult times. The hardships portrayed here are unemployed young men, people disunited by politics and a ‘dying’ world.

Themes/ Moral values
T Themes
· Adapting to changes. This is inevitable. We need to adapt to all kinds of social, economic and political changes. In this poem, the flutist is aloof to changes happening around him.
· Love and appreciate the arts.
·
Moral Values
· Aware of your family commitment.
Everyone needs to take responsibility to the changes that take place in life and act accordingly. The flutist does not succumb to the changes around him. He clings on to his roots. He is not aware of his family commitments. The persona, his former lover has progressed in life while he still leads his conventional lifestyle.
· Get your priorities right.
Eg: Village nowadays is left quiet and deserted. Rice fields are left barren, but the flutist continues to play his flute. He needs to realize there is time to play and time to work. Hence, one must get his priorities right.
